A colleague of mine is currently working on a 20+ years old micro services system. It has more than 50 services that are all super busy sending messages to each other in a wonderfully chaotic jaw dropping WTF way. While solving really simple business problems. It is without a doubt the most complex and badly designed software I have ever experienced or read about in my 30+ years career. I am predicting that 10 or 20 years from now developers unlucky enough to have to take over micro services systems created today will curse the developers who today are inexperienced enough to think micro services is a good idea.
