Misunderstanding Equality: confusion between moral and empirical claims persists
- raxxorraxor 4y agoI am not a fan of the new equality movements (that long exchanged the term for equity). But it consists of distinct groups as well, either naive academic students or billionaires that declared themselves to be philanthropists that know better than others. I mean why would they be billionaires otherwise? But biological essentialem does exist too, comes with allegedly easy explanations and is often just wrong. At some point freedom does collide with equality and finding the right balance is no easy task and something any society needs to come to a consensus to. You cannot force solidarity and restrictions on freedoms usually demand explanations as well. Today racism is brought back by those fighting for equality, the right, which to be honest is academically mostly useless and infantile, comes with alternative science or decreases freedom in the name of security, militarism or fighting terrorism. Although a gay cruise missile is probably seen as progress by the other group. They are that gullible. In the end both, freedom and equality decline and we can look at some distorted kids fighting about who is less mentally handicapped. Yes there are biological factors that form humans, yes a society that can take pride of itself should see that members can participate. Trying to make everyone equal ended in the worst totalitarian nightmares and a society where only a select few can harvest the fruits of labor is doomed to collapse or needs to enact a lot of violence on the population.
