Instead of getting a bigger internal disk, I opted for an external USB-C drive. The one I got (SanDisk Portable SSD) has 2TB of storage and transfers data at 1GB/s, so fast enough for everyday uses. I use it mostly for cold storage of larger files I rarely need and backups. So instead of spending $600 on the internal 2TB, my external drive only cost me $200 and is small enough to fit into any pocket.
