tldr; 'etymology/provenance' is not inline with current use; hence don't use. rather silly tbh. you'd have to stop using most words in english (let alone entire systems plagiarized from other cultures) if you take such a stance. as for the debate, actually, one could argue python would benefit greatly by going the other direction: make multi-line definitions of lambda possible (ala all the lisps).
