- samstave 4y agoAI _SHOULD_ invent things! imagine giving AI a prompt for an idea of a thing, which may require, say, PCB design... and then having it spit it out. "give me a circuit for a small camera, which connects wirelessly to a rasPI and can stream from multiple units" and it gives you the design of the PCB and gives you the BOM for the components off alibaba or whatever - or the sensors from TDK etc... - When we grew up before the internet we thought "wouldnt it be cool if" and now we have the internet and AI and all that... And we built that - so "wouldnt it be cool if the shit we built could build the shit that we again say 'wouldnt it be cool if we had [thing]'"
- samstave 4y agoWe need to feed an AI blueprints and pcb designs etc as a dataset so we can start feeding it propmpts on such... or bridge designs and structural info.
- bediger4000 4y agoIf AI can invent things, we should let it! We should give AI the intellectual property it has earned via the act of creation, to incentivise it to create more. That's the free market way, born out by all the fantastic economic growth since President Reagan.
