- yourself92 4y agoDo you think some spook cares about reducing global warming?
- henearkr 4y agoYes, basically the Biden government has been elected on this particular point. The whole free world wants to reduce global warming, so democratic governments want too, in agreement with the population wish. Same in France, where ecology has been a huge point of debate during the elections. Same in many countries, etc...

- henearkr 4y agoI'm speaking about nowadays, did you notice? While you're at it, why not speak of Petain and collaboration with Nazis? What is holding you back? Why are you speaking of different times with a different government? And times when there was not at all the sense of climate crisis we have now? The Macron government has been elected in the light of the AGW emergency (even if Macron is still trying to save the growth "en meme temps", but oh well). The whole population, the mainstream politicians, and the media, have a total different mindset than at the time of the greenpeace ship bombing.

- henearkr 4y ago> restarting coal Not at all on a large scale. In France only one single plant is prepared to be restarted, among a lot of criticism from the population. This has nothing to do with "restarting coal" in a broad meaning. > LNG Lots of hesitation about that from the governments, too. Very criticized, but the rationale they are proposing is that the LNG infrastructure would be useful for hydrogen later (not my words), and that they are still doing the energy transition towards renewable, only it will not be done in time so they need the gas. You see, the West (except some illiberal outsiders) is completely sure that the energy transition towards renewables is the solution. The only variable is time, and whether the various populations are ready and willing to suffer during the first few winters or not. > propaganda in the west I'm sorry I think you are not seeing the reality: tons of diverse opinions in the West. But false claims are not just equal to true claims, in that fewer people believe them and fewer relay them. That is why most people are against fossil fuels, as they understand the mechanisms underlying AGW. But on the other hand is there propaganda in India? Are the media free? Is Modi an illiberal? Aren't you tired of your own pro-Russian anti-Ukrainian propaganda? https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32745602 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32745602 Who are you? Do you really hate so much the West that you would side with an aggressor? Or does the BJP pay you?

- henearkr 4y agoHe is pro-Russian. Read his list of HN submissions...
- LargoLasskhyfv 4y agoHey, if you read some of my comments, you could come to the same conclusion ;> Anyways, I don't do that, too much hassle.
- LargoLasskhyfv 4y agoSmoke and mirrors.
- achikin 4y agoThe elections has ended. Now back to usual business.

- LargoLasskhyfv 4y agoIz just bizniz :-) OTOH there are the Apocalypsewowians praying: Komm Oh Herr! Errlösäh unntz von dem Böhsähn! The sooner, the better.
- alexandre_m 4y agoSure, it's inconsequential. The government and their politicians never get judged by their results, but by the means they put in place. They will go harder next time and request more money, stricter regulations, and more power to fight global warming.
