- garaetjjte 4y agoIn current situation greenhouse effect is probably at the bottom of everybody priority list.
- henearkr 4y agoNot at all. EU has been adamant that this was not the good time to go all-coal for example. They could have done just that but no, the whole population and the politics are against (except in a few illiberal "democracies"). Even in the US there is a lot of work done recently to patch the methane leaks in gas fields, for example, which have been spotted as big emitters (by negligence or lack of enforcement).
- vachina 4y ago> in the US there is a lot of work done recently to patch the methane leaks in gas fields This sounds like a business sustainability decision rather than out of concern for the environment.
- henearkr 4y agoNo, the business side was Trump's side. "Sustainability" (but not in the planet-preserving / extinction-event-avoiding meaning) of fossil fuel over the next century is not at all a problem, if we wished so.
- gpderetta 4y agoDon't worry. The incoming nuclear winter will neatly offset the greenhouse warming. /s but not really...

- henearkr 4y agoOh please!! ... The US invests trillions in reducing global warming yet you think they'd leak thousands of tons of methane in the air just like that??? .......
- yourself92 4y agoDo you think some spook cares about reducing global warming?
- henearkr 4y agoYes, basically the Biden government has been elected on this particular point. The whole free world wants to reduce global warming, so democratic governments want too, in agreement with the population wish. Same in France, where ecology has been a huge point of debate during the elections. Same in many countries, etc...

- henearkr 4y agoI'm speaking about nowadays, did you notice? While you're at it, why not speak of Petain and collaboration with Nazis? What is holding you back? Why are you speaking of different times with a different government? And times when there was not at all the sense of climate crisis we have now? The Macron government has been elected in the light of the AGW emergency (even if Macron is still trying to save the growth "en meme temps", but oh well). The whole population, the mainstream politicians, and the media, have a total different mindset than at the time of the greenpeace ship bombing.
