You need educated, healthy workers as well. That takes government investment.

  The left despises monopolies in business - they constantly hunt it out and pillory businesses that engage in monopoly activity. The left worships monopolies in education - all education must go through the government and indoctrinate children accordingly. I am fine with the government investing in education. But the government should give tax money directly to parents to allocate to the schools of their choosing. Otherwise monopoly takes hold
