The race to invent new particles is pointless
- hackandthink 4y agoThis reads harsh and frustrated. I don't mind funding CERN. Who knows better what to look for than particle phyiscists? My gut feeling: Give scientists money with no strings attached. Do not penalize risk taking.

- an1sotropy 4y agoOh I’m no expert so I can’t assess the truth of what she’s saying. Many of her YouTube videos have expressed the same dismayed critique of particle physics, hence my first comment. As an academic (in a totally different field) I do sometimes note research activities that seem more motivated by self-perpetuation of an “area” of work, rather than fundamentally solving any driving question.
