The cost of commuting (train tickets or petrol, wear and tear on cars), the time it takes, and side costs like sometimes purchasing a coffee or lunch all outweigh the extra utility costs by working from home (WFH). And people can often claim some WFH expenses on their taxes.
The ability to work flexible hours, and spend more time with family, as well as running small errands/chores during the day is also worthwhile.
