The mechanism you describe is strictly voluntary - and much less repressive than what’s considered normal in American workplaces - but of course it doesn’t prevent you from fantasizing about making it mandatory. But of course it’s not cultural racism, not at all.
(Quick look at your comment history shows you’re also a religious fundamentalist; what an unusual coincidence.)
- raxxorraxor 4y agoWhat is considered "normal" in some workplaces isn't really a good measure. It is true that requirements on suggested behavior increased in the last decade. But it isn't a competition on who is the worst actor here. I agree that some companies seem to mirror the impulse to police behavior. There is no racism to be found here. Your accusation is wrong and preposterous. It shouldn't even be worth a reply since there is no argumentative basis.
- dane-pgp 4y ago> of course it doesn’t prevent you from fantasizing about making it mandatory To be clear, it is a requirement of Chinese law that companies have CCP committees as "a way of installing a party representative within a company's top ranks, sometimes in a director or management role."[0] The app I described might still be voluntary, but other apps (such as for Covid[1] and for ethnic/religious minorities[2]) are anything but voluntary, in practice. > (Quick look at your comment history... I hope you don't report me to the Social Credit police, or I'll never be able to get a bank loan. Perhaps you can see now why pervasive surveillance has a chilling effect on people's right to free expression (assuming that's something you value). Anyway, a quick look at your comment history shows that you're a CCP apologist with a grudge against Christianity (and Catholicism specifically), which is also an "unusual coincidence". Also, I get the impression that you're keen to accuse someone else of racism, while you don't seem to care about the Uyghur minority in China, perhaps because they are mostly Muslim, so maybe you are projecting. For what it's worth, I have a great respect for the Chinese people and Chinese culture. I think that Chinese people make a positive contribution to every country that they choose to make their home in, and think that countries should do more to help Chinese people flee from their oppressive government.
