Repairing a multimeter by replacing its chip
- _Microft 4y agoThe title is editorialized for clarity. The actual title is "Replacing a 40 Pin COB With a 44 Pin QFP" which would have been incomprehensible to most. COB = Chip On Board, that's these chips under blobs of black epoxy that you might know if you ever opened a cheap toy/clock/... [0] QFP = Quad Flat Package, a chip package with pins around its four sides [1] [0] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_on_board https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chip_on_board [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quad_flat_package https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quad_flat_package
