The US market has always been weird for Vegetarian and Vegan products, but here in the UK the "plant based" market has been booming.
Virtually every major fast food chain (including McDonald's, Burger King, KFC, Subway, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa John's) has at least one completely Vegan meat alternative on their standard national menu.
They don't make the odd choice (like in the US) to add non-Vegan cheese or mayo to the products too (like McDonald's did in the US).
The pricing tends to be pretty similar to the meat equivalent product.
Some of the companies are being very ambitious - Burger King UK hopes that by 2030, 50% of the items on its menu will be plant based.
One other thing to note is that many of these chains offer not just "fake meat", but also a vegetable-based option too (e.g. McDonald's offers the Vegan certified McPlant, but it also offers Veggie Dippers, which can also go into a wrap - all Vegan).
