An IPv4 /18 subnet worth €680k was transferred from UA to RU
- nix23 4y agoJust for your information, there is no thing called "global sanction" and even if, without the vote of China and India....
- V__ 4y agoRipe's official position [1] is: > The RIPE NCC will at all times comply fully with EU sanctions. > that IP resources are considered economic resources, as defined in the EU sanctions regulation > This means that sanctioned entities cannot acquire further resources or transfer resources. I don't know enough about the process, but I think this happened in error and will be reversed? - SyneRyder 4y agoLooking at the records via command line whois -h whois.ripe.net 5.153.128.0 It shows it assigned to timernet.ru and record was last updated on 2022-08-04T05:37:14Z. That was almost two months ago, that's a long time for an error to persist. EDIT: Reading some more of the Twitter threads and some other documents on the RIPE website, it seems this is normal practice as far as RIPE considers it, unless timernet.ru were an EU sanctioned entity. https://labs.ripe.net/author/athina/eu-sanctions-and-our-russian-membership/ https://labs.ripe.net/author/athina/eu-sanctions-and-our-rus...
