I don’t understand the phenomenon of reciprocative following. Is it just an unspoken scheme to artificially inflate each other’s internet points? Like a kind of very low-level corruption?
- pavel_lishin 4y agoFor some, yes, it's a mutually-beneficial thing. For others, it feels rude not to follow someone back.
- aesh2Xa1 4y agoOn the flip side, nonreciprocal following can be a way to advertise prowess for some, while a genuine lack of interest for others. It's in the former category that we find "that sort of behavior" — i.e., cheating.
