Mispronunciation: Stop Correcting People’s Mistakes (2021)
- f1shy 4y agoI just don't agree! Sorry. It is ok to evolve the language, but then start to also write it as you pronounce it. I feel it is stupid a language which is "spoken differently as spelled". Yes, I know, just about any natural language is so. But the less so the better.
- oldandtired 4y agoIf Australians wrote the language in the manner in which we speak, no-one would comprehend what we have written. There is an old book demonstrating this called "Let Stalk Strine"/"Nose Tone Unturned" by the author Afferbeck Lauder and even for Australians, we have to speak what is written in this to be able to understand it. Brilliant book and funny as.
