I still use a couple of them for niche interests. The one thing that annoys me is that they still make uploading photos a chore. Usually you have to resize the image your self to get under some pathetic size limit. It's enough that people tend towards text when a picture or a drawing would be much better.
- betwixthewires 4y agoWhen you're a guy running a long lived online community on a $100 a year VPS you avoid storing media as mush as possible. There's a reason photo bucket sites used to be so popular.
- OJFord 4y agoMaking it not 'a chore' though could mean a nice frontend to upload to some such photobucket site and embed the result. Then you also avoid the annoying 'you must create an account to view attachments'.
- bombcar 4y agoSome of the forums have features to do that on upload - you just have to configure it. Sadly most of the admins for these type of fora are just learning as they go.
