Out of curiosity is this a sign of inflation? Last I knew $1M US was, if not a princely sum, at least enough to live very very comfortably for the rest of your life[1] in India. I've known Indian professionals who would send what to an American sounds like a fairly small sum back to their home village and they would be feted when they came to visit. That was a couple decades ago though so maybe things have changed. [1] Which will admittedly possibly be somewhat shorter down a kidney, but not necessarily by much if at all.
