We should be skeptical of these announcements. Over the past few years, we've seen a steady stream of companies issuing press releases about these kinds of experiments showing a four-day workweek is just as (or more) productive. The firms pat themselves on the back about how forward-thinking they are and talk about their commitment to employee well-being. However, none of these companies actually move to a four-day workweek. It seems like theater at this point.
