I think all the points he makes are good, but he misses at the beginning when he describes how now people can be picky about fantasy because we've a glut of it. That's technically true, but so many people are just SO happy to see orcs and wizards, none of the writing matters. Especially if it has a big brand like 'lord of the rings' attached to it plus an enormous CGI budget. You could have children write the story and it'd still make people happy.
