Future historians (if there will be any) will analyze this period of time (last 10-15 years) having the luxury of 'abstand' for the diplomatic blunders, ideological blindness supported by new found capability of waging propaganda on its own citizens (by both sides) lead to this situation, which in in turn, without any uncertainty what so ever leads to a major (WW) clash within few months (nuclear war is not only not off the table, it is, by remarks from RUS and USA almost an inevitability. (this are just words to us, but the inner rapture of sadness that this is indeed coming cannot be communicated).
I always wondered as a kid reading or learning about WWs how come nobody wanted to stop it. Why the elites are so eager for blood of other country's "peasants" (for those are the people who die), and even more so I wondered why are people willing to go and die for the elites. Clearly, as and adults I still do not have (the key) the answers. (Sure, states are not sentient entities, the expression I use is for convenience only).

It also shows us that there are many who talk a fierce talk and then react with horror when they're conscripted. People are cruel, ignorant and do not apply nearly enough of their capacity for empathy.
