Facebook Suspension
I need help urgently. I'm writing here as I am desperate to remove the suspension on my Facebook account and Instagram account. I work with my Instagram account and I am currently loosing money on collaborations and sponsorships.
On Sunday 18th September my personal Facebook page was hacked and the hacker started posting content that goes against the Facebook guidelines. I have proof showing that it was not me as the location of the hacker was Indiana, US while I live in Malta, EU. Unfortunately at that time I did not realise that. The hacker managed to log-in and posted content that went against the Facebook regulations resulting to Facebook blocking my personal account and also my Instagram account which is linked to it.
I have been trying to fill form and also fill a form to disagree with the Facebook decision but when I try to log-in to Facebook all I get is a notification that my Facebook is suspended. I keep going round in circles and all support is suggesting is to fill forms that I can not fill with my suspended account.
Can anyone help, maybe anyone that works at Facebook or can get me in touch with someone. I am willing to pay for professional help.
Thanks
Karin
- quickthrower2 4y agoBad luck :-( Hope you get this fixed.
- TekMol 4y agoYou might want to link to the account. The way you post this here is just a few lines of text from an HN account created half an hour ago. For all we know, it could just be a hoax. You say "my personal Facebook page was hacked". How? If you don't know how, then all you know that content appeared on the page that you did not post. This does not mean it has to involve a "hack" of "the page" which makes it sound like one of Meta's servers was hacked.
- Karin-Caligari 4y agoI know that my page was hacked as i got notifications fro Facebook that someone wa trying to login into my account. Unfortunately I did not manage to change my password in time as they had already taken over my account. The location of the login was US while I live in Malta EU. Facebook should know this kind of details.
- quickthrower2 4y agoI don’t recommend the OP do that. A Facebook employee can do DD anyway to see if this is for real. Anyone else can post ideas.
- julienreszka 4y agoHi Karin, Here's the form to ask for help if account was disabled by mistake https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/260749603972907 https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/260749603972907 They will ask for your ids and contact informations
- ajjenkins 4y agoYou should add “Ask HN:” to the the beginning of your post title.
- danpalmer 4y agoI'm sorry you're in this situation, and sorry I don't have any suggestions, I hope you can get it sorted soon. > I am willing to pay for professional help. This stood out to me though, what sort of help is it that you're willing to pay for? You may have some luck using a lawyer to contact Meta, but other than that this sounds like an offer to bribe? That has been known to work with Facebook in the past, but openly suggesting it is taking it to a new level. I hope this is a misunderstanding!
- ceejayoz 4y agoThere are firms you can pay to navigate Amazon’s appeals process. I wouldn’t be shocked if similar exist for Facebook.
- danpalmer 4y agoFair enough, thanks for mentioning it, but damn, that's a bit dystopian. It's a testament to how bad the process is that it's possible for there to be different levels of expertise in navigating it.
- kozinc 4y agoI suggest you look over the Facebook Help Center (https://www.facebook.com/help https://www.facebook.com/help), and navigate to (https://www.facebook.com/hacked https://www.facebook.com/hacked), or just email them directly (appeals@fb.com)
- uxcolumbo 4y agoHow do these FB / Instagram accounts get hacked? Poor passwords? No 2FA? ? P.S. Hope it will get sorted out for you... stressful if income is tied to an account.
- nomilk 4y agoI’m definitely no expert, but if you’re in a customer support circular reference, perhaps you could take a screen capture (video) on the off chance it’s some sort of bug. Maybe also try reporting from your other fb account or that of a colleague. The people reviewing at fb will be real people with a tiring and tough job and if you can give them links to help build credibility and authenticity I think it helps. Side story: I had a small accomodation emergency in a foreign country recently and it was the “legitimacy” of my Airbnb account (~30 reviews) that was the only thing that made me appear like I wasn’t a scam and indeed was real. Do everything you can to separate yourself from newer or less trusted accounts, and communicate via another account if you have to (i.e. if the UI has soft locked you from requesting a review).
