A question for hardware people: say I have device that needs to be controlled remotely via WiFi. It seems to me that either:
- the device has a tiny web client that connects to a remote server to send/receive data
- the device has a tiny web server that other devices can connect to send/receive data
Which option is easier? Are the hardware requirements similar? Are there other better options?
- robomartin 4y agoNeither one. A web server or client is a high level construct that isn’t necessary for two devices on a network to connect. One can get down to the TCP or UDP level and transfer data between two devices in both directions.
