My uncle had his wedding in Kenya about twenty years ago and a huge portion of my family went there for it. Every single electronic that wasn't in carry on luggage was stolen. My dad personally lost thousands of dollars in camera equipment. I never put anything I'm not willing to lose in my checked baggage.
