This makes the mission in Silent Running (1972) seem more practical. Maybe giant bottled forests in goldilocks orbits can survive indefinetely with just a few drones.
- Maursault 4y agoSpace is really really cold or really really hot, so power is needed to control the environment temperatures. Also, though glass will protect against virtually all alpha and beta particles, it won't do much to stop x-rays, gamma rays or neutron radiation. Maybe these problems can be solved.
