What kind of company is it; startup? Is it a hard external deadline or self imposed? At a startup for an externally imposed deadline (or otherwise some hard commitment) I would suck it up and retro and then decide based on the retro results. For self-imposed deadlines where make or miss isn't directly under your or your small teams control I would not work too much personally. Every single time I put in extra effort to hit internal deadlines that were ultimately outside my control I was burned. Every time.
