It’s actually a 2x performance per watt increase. The 450w power consumption of the top card is the same as the previous generation’s top card, 3090ti. Why decrease overall power consumption of the top of the line cards? PSUs and cooling can handle it and it’s for the customer that wants top performance. There are plenty of other cards in the line at lower total wattage with a good performance per watt.
