“Not capitalist” does not mean “communist”. There are plenty other systems out there. And even for what many folks call communism you’ll find examples of much better efficiency - China for example has been developing at speed never seen in nominally capitalist countries.
- ps901 4y agoChina is in fact a capitalist country, despite the "Communist" in it's party's name.
- db48x 4y agoPartly. Most of the Chinese people have no private property rights.
- twh270 4y agoMuch better efficiency - sure, if you don't believe in ghost cities and ignore the real estate hyper-bubble (which is certain to come crashing down).
- trasz 4y agoSo objective, easily verifiable gains - like the life expectancy, which is now longer than in USA - don't matter because of ghost towns? :-D
- tsol 4y agoWhat are the other systems that are actually being used?
- kleer001 4y agobarter at the very small scale some top down goes on it troubled countries but by far and away the advantages of capitalism are more than its deficits it responds to and is driven by human natures, not the other way around
