Mark Zuckerberg lost $70bn net worth, now world's 20th richest person
- ksaj 4y agoI really think the constant monitoring and ranking of wealth as a spectator sport is the primary reason there are such huge gaps between the classes. He might be the 20th most rich person on Earth now. But do you honestly think he has to cut back on absolutely anything in his life as his ranking goes south, while still being included on such a list? Is he suddenly unable to do things he could do when he was the 19th richest person on the planet? Is his life better in any way as a result of no longer being just the 21st richest person? Articles like this suggest we care about the entirely wrong things in life. Why does the middle class celebrate the gutting of their own "ranking"? True wealth should be measured by the lack of poverty in the world, and not by the excess of excesses in increasingly tiny pockets of it.
