If it hasn’t happened before, what’s different this time? Are more or different people or departments involved? What are their backgrounds and motivations? All this is moot if you don’t have any influence to change either how things are done or how your contribution is perceived; in that case, use this as great fodder for interviews and get a pay bump in the process.
