NIMBY has been stretched so far beyond its original idea it just means “anyone who doesn’t want to live in a skyscraper mega city”. The idea that a 6x6km piece of land is in any way responsible for homelessness in America, is absurd. Brooklyn has plenty of housing. San Francisco has plenty of housing. What they lack is cheap housing. Housing is a human right. Cheap housing that displaces and disenfranchises the locals because you see them all like the Old Man in Up? Not a human right.
