China's Yutu 2 rover still rolling after nearly 4 years on moon's far side
- hunglee2 4y ago> The six-wheeled, roughly 309-pound (140 kilograms) Yutu 2 has accumulated nearly 4,265 feet (1,300 meters) of driving in its roughly 3.5 years on the far side of the moon < it's crazy how slow this thing moves. Is there any explanation for this speed - most energy efficient?
- versteegen 4y agoCan't vouch for them, but for some detailed general answers see https://robotics.stackexchange.com/questions/679/why-are-mars-rovers-so-slow https://robotics.stackexchange.com/questions/679/why-are-mar... But even by extraterrestrial rover standards, Yutu 2 seems pretty slow.
