As is the case for 90% of public services in the United States.

- badpun 4y agoIn companies, the feedback loop is shorter. If the company's products or services are disappointing, the sales will fall (unless the company happens to be monopoly, but that's a different point), which will immediately be noticed by the CEO, who will start some mitigating actions that is likely to put some pressure on the workers. Whereas, if people are unhappy with a public service, they can do... what exactly? Swap Republicans for Democrats (or the other way around, depending on who's in power right now) in the next election? How likely is that to accomplish anything?
