It was even worse because while people can generally ballpark what a cup of coffee (or a fancier drink like a latte) costs from experience, wine can vary tremendously in cost. Was I drinking a $3 glass of wine or a $15 one? I generally had no idea. But like your coffee shop, it wasn't long for the world.
