No-one should have to burn so much excess energy just to pipe up. I always liked the meeting style where folks voice their opinions in ascending order of seniority. Someone told me this comes from Japan. I can’t confirm the origin but it’s certainly a neat way of defusing automatic deference to a senior voice.
