My personal wish is that the Start of the Year reverts back to March 1st, at the Spring Equinox.
That would merely entail the use of some extra days (two months and 20 days*) tacked on to the end of one particular year, to bring our dates back to the way they were originally intended. And our Leap Days on the 29th February would be that extra day added to the end of the year in Leap Years.
* Those extra days would be contained in extra 'months' which could be renamed Undecember ('11th month'), Duodecember ('12th month') and just 20 days in Tredecember ('13th month') following on from our normal December (meaning '10th month'). Otherwise we would have one very strange year with two sets of Januaries, Februaries and Marches.
By starting the year in March, September would revert back to its true meaning (the Latin word 'septem' is 'seven' in English) which is '7th month' instead of being our ninth month, October would revert to being truly the '8th month', November would revert to being the '9th month' instead of being the 11th month, and December of course would revert to being the '10th month'. The eleventh month is January, and the twelfth month is February as originally designed by our old friend Julius Caesar.
