In game theory, sometimes giving people extra options can make their situation worse. I am not saying that this is necessarily the case of e.g. Uber drivers. I am just arguing in general around the argument structure of "the old options are still there, a new one was added, people have free will, therefore they cannot possibly be harmed by this".
