There is a famous quote from Douglas Adams:
Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things. Apply this list to movies, rock music, word processors and mobile phones to work out how old you are.
These feelings are just the cohort of which we are a part getting older.

- luis_cho 4y agoThere is a famous quote from Kenneth Boulding “Anyone who believes in indefinite growth in anything physical, on a physically finite planet, is either mad or an economist."
- cercatrova 4y agoIn my opinion, if we want progress, there is no other way but to believe we can achieve infinite growth, because even if we can't, we are forced to innovate along the way. I sure don't want to live in an agrarian society just because we don't have infinite resources.
- As_You_Wish 4y agoAll we need to do is invent replicators like they have on Star Trek and we're home free. Just jigger atoms around and we're gold. Plus the transporter where we can just instantly transport anywhere we want to go in the world instantly. It's all really simple when we finally get that going.
