I was working a few Java projects in IntelliJ. The IDE default view is based on Java modules and packages. Sometimes I find those hierarchies are not great for program understanding. A common occurrence is related classes spread across several packages, because the packages were organized by concern/function. For new developers it is much more helpful to have different ways of organizing that don't impact the actual code.
I plan to use this on Monday.
One idea I had just now is perhaps a script to generate these files by reading source. In the Java world I would imagine adding annotations with RetentionPolicy.SOURCE on classes.
