The Great California Electricity Blackout That Wasn’t
- guerby 4y agonegawatt at play: " When California’s peak power consumption surpassed 50,000 MW on an historically hot September 6, it was still 25,000 MW below levels recorded on a recent hot summer day in Texas, a state with a much smaller population and economy. This highlights the crucial importance of the demand side of the electric reliability equation."
- gardenfelder 4y agoThe piece points out that California, unlike Texas, is part of a large area energy grid. Bucky Fuller is known to have proposed a global power grid many years ago [1]. It would seem that the Western states are picking up on that idea. Not to ignore the fact that this grid has some battery backup capabilities.
