Ten Challenges for Rust
- rektide 4y agoThis is more a community topic but... Shipping some crypto libraries that work on wasm! Yikes! I went looking to compile some stuff on wasm recently & wow, anything real that servers do is impossible. I have no idea why but for whatever reason seemingly none of the crypto crates that underlie 90% of the ecosystem can target wasm. There's been a ton of recreated really good machinery in rust land & I was just stunned to find that for whatever reason crypto in particular just wasnt targettable for webassembly. Very weird. Im a rank neophyte, just wanted to start dabbling, but wasnt expecting & didnt understand what constraints were keeping seemingly boring normal rust code from targetting wasm.
