As a manager I always state in my message what I want to talk about. Or what a meeting is about. There is a big difference between "Can we talk?" and "Can we talk? Want us to look over the roadmap real quick". The first one could be anything and the other person will always imagine all kinds of stuff. Likely even lose productivity over it. The second one is a no brainer.
