“ You should be able to buy a Ford EV without ever setting foot in a dealership, but due to state laws the sales will continue to be facilitated through dealerships, not directly from Ford.”
Can someone explain why this is the case?
- crakenzak 4y agoCar dealership lobbies. Literally the only reason this ancient industry is still going to continue living (albeit hopefully short lived.)
- robomartin 4y agoI would like to understand this at a more granular level. For example: What type of legislation prevents a company from selling a non-regulated product (not a drug) any way they want? Why can't a company like Ford launch a new division for direct sales of EV's? What is the benefit for consumers to force an intermediary into the equation? How is it that Tesla can sell their vehicles direct?
