Admittedly havent followed Sweden politics in a long time.
Guess they had an election 3 days ago where this right-wing party increased their popular vote by 3% compared to previous election. So basically not-news. Doesnt seem like any major changes to their electorate.
>Sweden election: How an ex neo-Nazi movement became kingmakers
>More than one in five Swedes voted for the radical anti-immigration Sweden Democrats (SD) party in elections on Sunday.
What a tremendously biased article. How absolutely embarrassing for the BBC to publish this.
>It is a watershed moment for a party founded by Nazi sympathisers, shunned for decades by the mainstream - and now on the cusp of playing a kingmaking role in a country better known for its stable and predictable politics.
All these swedish nazis...
Let's discuss what happened.
In 2013 Sweden opened the gates for Arab spring immigration. Applause for Sweden for trying to help. They brought in significant number of people. Which for a country not that experienced with large immigration they weren't prepared.
You have the not-nazis socialists who did win this election a couple days ago saying only months ago: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/swedish-pm-says-integration-immigrants-has-failed-fueled-gang-crime-2022-04-28/ https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/swedish-pm-says-integra...
You also have a bit of a rape problem in Sweden: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-45269764 https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-45269764
Sweden used to be the rape capital of the world only a few years ago. There's a clear problem here that needs to be addressed.
Calling politicians who are trying to fix the situation a bunch of nazis isn't going to help the situation at all.
- trasz 4y ago>Sweden used to be the rape capital of the world only a few years ago Because of fake news, in particular by ignoring the cause, namely counting rape cases properly, which is very different from most countries.

Note that Sweden actually counts many things as rape which are not considered rape in other countries (see Assange). > Calling politicians who are trying to fix the situation a bunch of nazis isn't going to help the situation at all. Considering that some of its members used to go on marches with actual Nazi flags and went out bashing brown people (yes they are trying to clean up their image, but those people are still in the party), I think it's pretty fair to call them Nazis.
