The "nothing to hide" line is diametrical to an American education, which typically provides access to the Bill of Rights. And it was talked about that communism was invasive of privacy and private property, which absolutely cannot exist in any way without privacy. Like if you own a farm, you have the deed. Where in the house is it? How do you enter the house? With a key. What does the key look like? Can't reveal that because then it can be forged and the door opened. OK what if you're locked out? Well then there's another way in nobody knows about it's underneath the flowerpot in the dirt--THAT'S PRIVACY. Private property is founded on privacy. The alternative is being the only man strong enough to lift a boulder blocking the entrance. And even then that's because that man has privacy within his nervous system, his muscles are not connecting to other people's nervous systems with wires. Privacy -> private property. Otherwise you have nothing.
Nothing to hide. Really it was the bitchvictim media saying people said this. It cannot be taken seriously, people don't say this, it's a bitchvictim media trope. They imposed it as a social expectation. Then people think people think that. Dude nothing to hide why wear clothing? They don't show their genitals upon request.
Only saints have nothing to hide. Even then, they typically stand up to torture before betraying information leading to eg the Christian Catacombs.
Nothing to hide, yeah.
