Increasing the separation between runways would be sufficient to get most of the way there; planes can be landed solely on instruments if the runways are far enough apart.

- ThinkingGuy 4y agoThere's more to it than runway spacing, of course. The runway and the aircraft both must have the necessary equipment installed, and the flight crew has be trained and certified in its use.
