One of the large benefits of roundabouts is the reduction in serious crashes. 90% reduction in deaths, 76% reduction in injuries, and 35% reduction in all crashes. [1] 1) Cars need to slow down to go through the roundabout safely, 2) If there is an accident it is more of a side-swipe type accident than a t-bone or head-on accident.
