My personal experience on the road to getting funded: Started with flashy animated decks and a full "pitch" to investors. That didn't work (for me) at all. What did work was a concise deck in PDF form I'd send after getting the meeting but before the meeting itself. The meeting was a conversation. I'd bring a paper copy, and my laptop if the conversation went a direction that made it make sense. Also, if you're pitching a firm, the deck needs to be in a format it can be shared internally, without you there to narrate it.
