This is a perfect example of the great fallacy of US liberals: just legislate things hard enough and people who supported these things will disappear in a puff of smoke. In the 2020 election the state with the lowest amount of Trump votes was Vermont, with 31% of people voting for him. Nation-wide 47% of people voted for Trump. These people are not just going to disappear. Thinking these people will start voting for democratic candidates after banning the GOP is just not going to happen.
