This is pretty crazy extreme. It's like you were just looking for a pretext to do this anyway, so whatever biased view you had of January 6, could suit that.
Let's just say you're pro- Asian rights, and you have a largely peaceful protest with good objectives about equality and respect and I decide that I don't really like that I don't want to see the Asians getting equal treatment so I decide to sabotage your operation and I organize a bunch of Japanese nationalist extremists to come on the same day and do some acts of vandalism or violence because I know that the media will be hungry for that and will use that to smear everybody else's involvement.
So suddenly nobody recognizes that the peaceful protest was made up of hundreds of thousands of families simply wanting a fair go for their Asian American children, all they see now is hundreds of thousands of crazy people supporting insane Japanese nationalist extremist performing violence and vandalism.
So I have successfully tarnished the entire hypothetical Asian rights movement. I hacked the media and people's ability to be prejudiced and form a stereotype based on something that inspires fear.
So...I win and you lose because I've successfully misrepresented everything you were standing for by grabbing everyone's attention.

- x86_64Ubuntu 4y agoWe don't need a drawn out hypothetical to explain what we're seeing with the American right. And that's an attempt to overturn an election through force on 1/6 which lead to deaths of some of the participants, an increase in the number of election deniers in the party, as well as an attempt to overturn democracy by the SCOTUS ruling on Moore v. Harper. Conservatives can't get upset that people are judging them by the things they consistently say, do and support.
